the southeast quadrant of the map.
Notes on the making of this demo: I usually prefer to get the Pain Elementals
out of the way before attacking the Arachnotrons, and in this demo I try to
lure them down into the east-side cave, and then across its ceiling.  Because
they can't effectively attack when they're up against the ceiling, they become
easy targets...

LEVEL 07: CAUGHTYARD

Notes: Demonstrates a "trick" that can allow the player to bypass some parts of
the level and get to the exit sooner.
After killing all the Mancubus monsters in the courtyard, and then lowering the
north-side elevator, it's possible to "jump" the moat by using a simultaneous
combination of Run-forward and Strafe-sideways.  ("Strafe running" like this
moves the player character at an odd angle, but yields a speed slightly above
that of normal running.)
It's not necessarily easy to make the jump, because the far side of the moat is
almost out of range.  If you get the timing just right, you can jump farther if
you run off the edge of the elevator while it's rising.
Notes on the making of this demo: I almost make it all the way through without
a scratch, but one of the Chaingunners near the exit scores a hit.  (Sometimes
you can kill them both before they can attack, but my luck finally ran out.)

Notes: Shows a couple of tricks for acquiring the red and yellow keys (see the
demo PLU10ALL.LMP, above, for the standard methods).
In this demo the red key is accessed early by stepping through a window located
next to the yellow-keyed door.  Then a strafe-run maneuver is used to grab the
yellow key without first lowering the pedestal it rests upon.
(Actually it's possible to skip the yellow key entirely and still exit the map
with maximum scores.)

Although this area is hidden and a bit tricky to access, it is not scored as a

Notes on the making of this demo: I played in single-player Deathmatch mode to
allow me to start the game near my destination and with the blue key already in
my inventory.

The first switch encountered in this demo opens the barrier blocking access to
the red-key chamber; The remaining switches open the path to the blue key.
It is possible to take the blue key from the pedestal by running normally, but
players may find it easier to strafe-run (using a simultaneous combination of
Run-forward and Strafe-sideways) to reach it.
Note that only one key (either one) is required in order to reach the exit.
